Both campgrounds are open year-round and offer a range of facilities for tent and RV campers. Olive Grove

Olive Grove campground is located about 1/2 mile from Lake Piru in the Los Padres National Forest. The majority of the 234 campsites are set among large olive trees, providing plenty of shade. Oak trees provide shade to several other sites. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring with a grill. Restrooms, showers, and drinking water are available throughout the campground.

Eucalyptus Grove

Eucalyptus Grove campground is located on the east side of Lake Piru and has 50 campsites. The campground is surrounded by eucalyptus trees, which provide plenty of shade. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring with a grill. Restrooms, showers, and drinking water are available throughout the campground.

Getting There

If you’re planning a camping trip to Lake Piru, you’ll need to know how to get there. Fortunately, the lake is easily accessible by car from several major cities in California.

From Los Angeles, take the 101 freeway north to Ventura, then take the 126 freeway east for about 15 miles until you reach the Lake Piru Recreation Area. From Santa Barbara, take the 101 freeway south to Ventura, then follow the same directions as from Los Angeles.

If you’re coming from the San Fernando Valley or the Santa Clarita Valley, take the 5 freeway north to the 126 freeway west. Follow the 126 for about 20 miles until you reach the Lake Piru Recreation Area.

Once you arrive at the lake, you’ll need to pay an entrance fee to access the recreation area. The fee is $14 per vehicle, and $10 per vehicle for seniors. If you’re camping overnight, you’ll also need to pay a camping fee.

There are several campgrounds at Lake Piru, including the Olive Grove Campground, the Blue Point Campground, and the Red Mountain Campground. Each campground offers different amenities, so be sure to choose the one that’s right for you.
